Can heavy bleeding be normal on hormones?

Yes!  Any hormones can affect your cycle.  If you bleed heavily for longer than 10 days, you should notify your doctor.

I have gained a lot of weight.  Can my hormones do this?

Yes, hormone replacement therapy can cause weight gain, breast tenderness, irritability and fluid retention.

Should I have my hormones checked?  I am having moodiness, crying, PMS, and am 40 years old or older.

Not all of these problems are related to hormones.  If you have normal menstrual cycles, these symptoms may be PMS or stress related problems.

Should I be concerned about all the breast tenderness or sharp pain I am having in one or both breasts?

First you should decrease your caffiene intake to nil for about two months.  Extra vitamin E also sometimes helps breast tenderness.  If the pain and/or tenderness persists, see your doctor.

I found a lump in my breast.  What should I do?

Breast self exam should be done monthly, ideally following your cycle.  It is acceptable to watch the lump through a cycle (for a month).  If the lump persists or enlarges, see your doctor.

What should I do if I have a cyst on my ovary?

Follicular development (ie cyst formation) is a normal function of your ovary. These cysts are sometimes painful, sometimes not.  If pain persists for longer than a week notify your doctor.
